E.C.H.O. MAGAZINE - EDITION 4




This has to be one of the most proactive means of sustaining and propagating African Hip-hop in a digital age. At a point in my young life, I held on to the words of Ayo Animashaun's Hip-Hop World Magazine. But I have grown to see it deviate from what it was originally.

 With E.C.H.O. you'll find all the core elements of HipHop retained, the music (rappers, soul-singers, DJs), the artwork (graffiti, comics, fashion), the sub-culture itself (events, competitions). And even better, the relationship between what's happening in Hip-Hop communities in other countries and how they compare with what young Naija Hip-Hop acts are doing.

 Make I no yarn too much. Inside this editon sef, I yarn my mind about OAPs and shared my perspectives on Naija Hip-Hop and what needs to be done in the media to change a few anomalies.

There has been an uproar on social media, specifically twitter about the nature of today's OAP (or radio personality) . My people have been accused of forcing false accents down the ears of the listener, of being voices without content and poor contributors to Nigeria's music progress. Mmmh, na wa. Recently I made a guest appearance in an edition of the very informative, colourful pan-African digital magazine, E.C.H.O. and some of the questions asked veered into OAP/Artiste/Music relationship territory. I made it clear though that artistes had to have the right attitude before expecting to hear their songs on the airwaves. SO YOU WANT TO BE ON RADIO? SITES & RESOURCES

I visit quite a number of radio sites on a daily basis and spend quality time assimilating discussions and video tutorials. I have been told that knowledge is expected to be shared and not hoarded lest one suffers from "knowledge constipation". So while I may not possess the qualifications to run certified teaching classes yet, I can still refer those who need them to resources that may help boost their career intentions.
